Cute-- and your button pile reminds me of the giant jar-o'-buttons that my boyfriend's mom owns... She told me recently "This will be yours some day." Underneath the "oh goody goody more buttons" feeling was the "crap, are there any matching ones in that giant thing?"
I hope so. Although the process of finding them will not be all that enjoyable.
I love random button collections! I had jars of them, then I organized them when I had my sewing business, but it's not the same when they are in little slots! Those booties are the cutest!
